Mosaïque (Emerald Isle)

Mosaique

Emerald Isle

Mosaïque springs into the Irish spirit on March 13th with a program celebrating that very green holiday, Saint Patrick’s Day. Emerald Isle brings together storytelling and music as myths and legends from Ireland are shared alongside both contemporary and traditional Irish music. You’ll hear tales about salmon and swans, magical horses and mighty warriors, with music by Ian Wilson, Ailbhe McDonagh, Charles Villiers Stanford, Thomas Moore and many others. Performers include pianist Deirdre Brenner, violinist Rita Manning, soprano Mairead Buicke, and storyteller Niall Kinsella, as well as the folk band The Moving Pints.

Plan now to stay late as the party will continue after the concert with a traditional Irish folk music “session” in the bar. The Turnhalle at Brick-5 will take care of the food and the booze, and we’ll provide the craic*.

We can’t wait to see you then!!

This concert is generously supported by Culture Ireland and Embassy of Ireland Vienna.

* „Craic“ (/kræk/ KRACK), or „crack“, is a term for news, gossip, fun, entertainment, and enjoyable conversation, particularly prominent in Ireland. It is often used with the definite article – the craic.
