Mélodies sublimes

On May 8th Mosaïque celebrates the life of Claude Debussy 100 years after his death in 1918. Our newest concert creation, „Mélodies sublimes“, looks at Debussy not only as the poster-child of impressionism, but as an innovator and a pioneer; a composer whose works influenced generations of composers to come. The program combines songs and chamber music by Debussy alongside a selection of fresh compositions by contemporary composers including Tomasz Skweres, Kui Dong, Guntolf Palten, and David Hirschfelder. Strings and voices mingle with performances by soprano Simona Eisinger, mezzo-soprano Margaret Plummer, pianist Deirdre Brenner and the award-winning Stratos Quartett.

We are particularly excited to present three young artists in this program as well. Soprano Penelope Makeig and pianist Victoria Choi have been a significant part of the Mosaïque family for the last couple of years, and violinist Hannie McGarity will join the Stratos Quartett for two exciting new works.

We are also thrilled to welcome wine-maker Lukas Jahn to Brick-5 next month. Lukas has recently established Locknbauer, a new vineyard in Styria, and will have a selection of wines for you to try before, after, and perhaps even during the concert.

Tell your family, grab your friends, and join us there!
